2010 METRO EVENTS AND CLINICS
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: ATTENTION COACHES!
COACHES CLINIC!! SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 4th. 10 AM to 3 PM. IF YOU ARE LATE, YOU MAY NOT BE CERTIFIED.
A coaches' certification clinic will be held on Saturday, September 4th at World Wide Boxing Gym, 3134 Jerome Avenue in the Bronx. It will start at 10 AM sharp, so DO NOT BE LATE! You must be registered with USA Boxing in order to take the clinic. Someone will be at the clinic to do registrations (both athlete and non-athlete). You must also be 18 years old in order to be certified. Bring a snack, water and any other refreshments you may need as lunch will not be served and there will only be a short break. You should also bring a notebook and a pen -- remember, you're taking a test so YOU NEED A PEN! This will be a group exam that will be strictly graded. USA BOXING METRO IS NOW REQUIRING ALL COACHES TO GET REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION ID CARDS.
The cards will include registrations number(s), certification expiration date and a photo, which will be crated by the ID card software.
Any coach who is currently registered AND certified MUST get their ID cards before working their boxer's corner. All others will receive ID cards once they are certified. If you do not have an ID card, you cannot work inside the ring with your boxer. THIS DOES NOT JUST APPLY TO THE GOLDEN GLOVES!

Wednesday through Saturday, July 28-31 and Friday and Saturday, August 6-7- Brotherhood Boxing will hold the First Annual New York Boxing Tournament. Preliminary elimination rounds in this mixed tournament will be held on the July dates. All New York residents from ages 8 and over registered with USA Boxing, Metro are welcome. The Finals will be held August 6th and 7th. Special awards will be presented to champions in each category. Locations to be determined. Saturday, July 31 - Suffolk PAL will host the Suffolk PAL Invitational Tournament at the Brentwood Recreation Center, 99 3rd Avenue in Brentwood, 11717. PLEASE NOTE: All Metro athletes and coaches competing outside of Metro or sanction holders inviting boxers from outside of Metro to compete at their club show(s) MUST contact the President for a travel permit.
Ringside World Championships - KCI Expo Center, Kansas City, MO. August 2-7, 2010. Details can be found at www.Ringside.com under "2010 Ringside World Championships." Officials check in August 2nd 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM and August 3rd 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Officials clinic will be held for Levels 1, 2 and 3 on August 3rd, 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

It is strongly recommended that EMTs are present at all sanctioned shows.
All sanctioned shows must have barriers around the ring to protect athletes and officials.
